The 2-minute rule

I first learned about the two-minute rule a few years ago when I read David Allen's classic Getting Things Done.

Though I haven't finished the book yet, but the concept of the 2-minute rule has stuck with me ever since, and I always try to stick to it in my day-to-day work routine.

The gist of this 2-minute rule is that if there's anything you can get done in two minutes, just do it. Don't think about it, don't add it to your to-do list, or don't put it off for later. Just do it!

Because it's natural to fall into the trap of putting off small tasks thinking they won't take much time. And voila, you end up forgetting about them, and now you have this huge list of pending tasks.

Now the question is, if you know something will take 2 minutes, why not get it done instantly?

So, if you don't want to get overwhelmed with a huge to-do list, follow the 2-minute rule and make the best of your time!
